Gooooood morning! It’s a dreary, rainy day here in Knoxvegas, and I’m currently either battling a cold or allergies. Either way, hope it passes soon!
I wanted to recap the mostly amazing weekend (how has another weekend come and gone?!). On Friday, I received a notification that I had won a free Vols tank top from Neighborhood Barre! I was stoked! I could get used to winning. 😉
Saturday was gameday! We all loaded up and headed downtown around 2:00 to tailgate until kickoff at 7:00. I enjoyed this scrumptious snack plate and an unpictured plate of delicious home smoked BBQ, baked beans, slaw, and potato salad. Mmmm mmm mmWe got to see several friends, and I was SO happy to have my twnkie with us! I’m converting her to being a football lover slowly but surely. 🙂Someday it would be fun to make a collage of all of D’s and my gameday photos, especially since we met at a Vols tailgate. :))
That’s my father-in-law being a goob and photobombing us. hahahaha
Once fueled up, and sweaty from head to toe, we hiked to the stadium to witness 60 minutes of a pure ass whooping. Y’all, it was PAINFUL. The Vols turned the ball over 6 times…SIX TIMES. There was no coming back. I also know this is what so many people say, but the refs were AWFUL. Straight up trash just like the FL players (sorry if any of y’all out there are FL fans). FL played dirty, the refs apparently wore blindfolds, and the Vols just could not hold onto the ball if their lives depended on it. We also missed countless blocks, didn’t have the speed needed on our defense (although our defense did play pretty well otherwise), and our offense couldn’t protect our QB.
Didn’t really abide by the very first rule: “The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win”…Basically, this season is going to be tougher than last year I think. Our new head coach is awesome, we have the talent, and we are recruiting, but it’s clear we are a long way away from being an SEC competitive team. I’ll always bleed and cry orange though.
Alllllrighty, Sunday kor and I decided to enjoy some liquid gold at K-Brew together whilst doing some behind-the-scenes blogging updates, nommed on some leftover pizza at my house and then loaded up with Axl Rose to enjoy the fall festival at Cruze Farm! The house was sooooo beautiful covered with pumpkins everywhere, mums on mums on mums, and the pumpkin ice cream was perfection. We snapped some wonderful photos that I plan to have printed, lip locked with some ice cream, and enjoyed being a part of such a wonderful local event. Axl was also so well-behaved (as always!). Is he just not the cutest pup you have ever seen?!?!?! I know I’m biased….kind of. 🙂
All in all it was a fab weekend, but I most certainly am hoping to see some Orange and White miracles this fall!
Please tell me if you did anything fall related last weekend!
